Advice Starting Small Business Questions

I have a website and sell quality products. However I am not driving too many customers to my site. I have a lot of ideas to get customers. The problem is that I don't have the money to get this ideas rolling. I have bad credit and can not get a small business loan. How can I get the money to get my marketing ideas and plans off the drawing board? Does anyone know of free or cheap on-line marketing opportunities? Thanks in advance.

I am thinking about going into business for myself. I need advice on what type of formation I should go with (Sole Proprietorship or Limited Liability Company (LLC) ) I will be the only person involved. I will be providing an installation service.

First of all i am 21 years old, and own my own house. Ive been thinking about starting my own lawn service, i currently work for Pepsi but Ive been there about 2 years now and have been on layoff more than half of that time, anyways, Ive also worked for ford for 1 year, and a small pizza place for about 3 years. And i know for my future I want to run and manage my own small business. So i am thinking while I work for Pepsi just to start a lawn service for some side cash and just take it from there. one thing that will help is my friend's grandpa runs a lawn service and is willing to help with some accounts. For some help someone that i work with is willing to help, and my brother, and some of my friends if needed. I work midnights for Pepsi so i get off work at 7am and could get started after that. I also work with computers, and one of my client's has there business liscence, and is willing to help me with everything on the paperwork end, so doing everything legal is not a problem. Could I just get some advice on the whole idea. Also what percent of total income should I pay everyone, as in the accountant and one helper.

I love working with people and need to be my own boss. Can I start something with little money and build my way up? I have about a grand to put into it. I'm open to any ideas.

I would like to start my own home repair business. I live in K.c. Mo. and want to do work in the metro area. Right now I'm just wanting to run this business part time. I have a full time job that I want to keep working. I'm a maintenance tech at an apartment complex. My first question: Is it even possible to keep this job or would it be a conflict of interest? I want to do work like bathroom refurbishment, basment refinishing, maybe deck building, painting, light plumbing and electrical. Yard work. Simple home maintenance. What kind of Licenses would I need? Would I need to register to pay taxes? If I brought someone in to help, would it be better for me to have them as a partner or an employee? I want to be able to advertise my services in the phone book and online. As well as with business cards. Do I need to do anything extra for this privilege? I read something that said you must register for any business operated under any name other than your own. Does this mean that if I use my own name as the business name I don't have to register? Do I need to have to have an accountant? I'm thinking that an L.L.c. would be my best bet. I know of someone who just "went down and payed a hundred dollars and got a business permit". Is it really that simple or should I just get an attorney to set up the business? How much should I expect an attorney to charge to set up a small business? I don't know anything about starting a small business, but I do know the field I have choosen. Ten yrs of experience. I apprieciate your advice on this matter, Ty.

I am considering starting a technology service business, not a brick and mortar for now, just an install and repair service for home users and businesses. I'm not sure what the business laws are for my state (Iowa) and what the process would be for legitimizing my business. When must a company be incorporated and what are the benefits and drawbacks to this? Any advice that anyone can offer about what sort of expense I can expect to pay and what kind of a time frame I could be looking at before I can get underway. Thank you!

I am starting a new local small cleaning business. so far all i have done is sent the lisence application in, got insured and bonded. I am the only insured and bonded cleaning co. in alot of the surrounding counties.Should I incorporate? why? I don't know how to go about taking out taxes? Also I have heard that if u hire someone you should just contract them out so u dont have to worry about things youd have to worry about if u actually employee them? ( will be a while till i expand enough to hire cause my family is helping now) Also i have went to local business in my town and gave them flyers and advertised in the paper. Any other advertising ideals? This is all new to me and a litttle overwhelming! I have got a few jobs already and 1 includes a business that has alot of office space and areas to clean. I just need more because my ultimate goal is to get enough jobs, hire workers and eventually not have to clean myself.

I'm trying to start my own personal custom painting business for people who are redecorating or remodeling their homes. I know that this is a far fetched idea since people aren't really doing these types of things since the economy is so bad right now, but hopefully something will happen when it picks up. I'm not exactly sure how to go about it, but I do have a website. ekcustompaintings.weebly.com I'm actually a teacher, but I wanted to do something on the side, especially for summers. Any advice? Joe! You website is fantastic! Good luck!
